We understand there is some confusion around citrus for animal consumption. While citrus in high levels can be toxic for some pets, citrus pulp is an approved ingredient that can be and often is used in dog and cat foods, supplements and treats. The citrus pulp in the pet food industry is the end product, once the juice and oils have been extracted. Citrus pulp is a good source of soluble and insoluble fiber in cat products to help move hairballs through the digestive tract.
